Magnolia Bakery

Magnolia Bakery has several locations in Manhattan.  One of the most popular locations is that of the Greenwich village bakery (Bleecker street); this is partially because it was used in a scene on Sex and The City - Carries stoop is also located just around the corner from here!  Their bakeries are quite small so you tend to have to buy to take away.  The Greenwich bakery is located by some really nice streets and boutique stores to wander around after you treat yourself here.

Maison Kayser

This is a French Artisan Boulanger which has a nice selection of bread and pastries.  They too have several locations scattered around the city and  they make for a nice quick pit stop to grab a coffee to go while wandering the city sightseeing.

Dylan's Candy Bar

Founded by Ralph Laurens daughter, this flagship store has remained on a variety of “Top 10” lists of New York City tourist attractions since its inception - welcoming over 2 million visitors per year.  All types of famous people, ranging from Michelle Obama and Oprah Winfrey to Al Pacino and Tom Cruise, have visited the store and there is even a section of the store dedicated to autographs whereby celebrities have signed their favorite sweets from the store.  The decor is very pop art inspired and it also hosts an Ice Cream & Dessert Parlor, Candy Cocktail Bar, and Party Rooms.

Ralphs Coffee

I visited this coffee shop by chance when shopping in the Ralph Lauren store on Fifth Avenue.  I loved the coffee so much that I returned again during my trip the following year.... but was disappointed to discover that the store had shut!  However, the coffee is so popular that a Ralphs Coffee truck opened up by the Rockefeller Centre.  I will definitely call in for some coffee on my next visit!  Bergdorf Goodman also had a pop up Ralphs Coffee for a while so keep an eye out for more pop ups!

The Hershey's Company and The M&M Store are both located in Times Square and worth a visit too.

Juliette

Juliette is another French restaurant.  It is located out in Williamsburg and is well worth popping into if you are in Brooklyn.  Unfortunately, I didn't have my camera with me on the day that I dined here....which was a shame as the indoor garden area is so so pretty!  We were lucky enough to have pre-booked seats for this area.

The Butchers Daughter

This is one of my favorite breakfast spots in NYC to date!  Though this is probably largely because I'm vegetarian and loved that it is a plant-based restaurant, cafe and juice bar - they describe themselves as a “vegetable slaughterhouse" 😂  There are three Butchers Daughter locations in New York (Nolita, West Village, and Brooklyn) and I visited the Nolita location.  I loved the décor which featured a lot of greenery.

Jack's Wife Freda

Jack's Wife Freda has three locations in the city (SoHo, Chelsea and the West Village).  One of these locations is not too far from The Butchers Daughter West Village location.  I visited the SoHo restaurant and really liked it, however, I probably needed something more substantial than what the salad offered on that day.

Eat By Chloe

I absolutely loved the veggie burger I had in here (I had the guac one)!  There are several Eat by Chloe locations found in NYC - they also have a London location.  It is great for a quick stop off in the evening for take away; you can dine in here too.  They also do salads, sweets, brunch, dog treats and have a juice bar.  Even though I am vegetarian, I didn't realize until I arrived that it is a plant-based food restaurant and holds a vegan menu.  (Note: they only accepted cards as payment in the restaurant that I visited - no cash.)

ilii

A creative Lebanese restaurant located in the NoMad / Flatiron District (close to Gramercy).  I really enjoyed here!  We shared several dishes and everything tasted so good!  The service was not great but the food and decor made up for it 😄

White Oak Tavern

I had never heard of this spot, however, my friend's been living in NYC for a few years and it came recommended by someone she knew.  It is located near Washington Square Park and composed of a tavern bar setting which also features craft beers.  The food was fabulous!  If you're looking for somewhere with a casual setting but where the food still tastes amazing then I would recommend here.  The reviews on TripAdvisor seem to agree too!

Chelsea Market

This is obviously located in Chelsea 😊  It is situated quite near the High Line walk.  If you are doing this walk then it is a great spot to stop off for a bite to eat and wander through the shops and stalls in here.

The Standard Grill

Located on the ground floor of the very cool The Standard Hotel in the trendy Meatpacking District.  I constantly see pictures of people sipping cocktails at the rooftop bar located in this hotel and it still remains on my to-do list!  For now, The Standard Grill sufficed and the food was really good.

The Loeb Boathouse (Central Park)

While wandering around Central Park we stopped off in the Express Café which is located inside of the Boathouse.  The food in the cafe was okay, however, it is the restaurant area that is more renowned for dining in.  The restaurant has an outdoor seating area along the water and it is where the most popular and scenic seating of the Boathouse is.  I still really want to book a table here at some point in the future.

STILL  ON  MY  LIST

Some other places that remain on my list to visit are Balthazar, Sarabeths, Russ & Daughters Cafe, Tao and the revolving rooftop restaurant The View (found on Times Square).  Also, I'm vegetarian but I would still like to visit the famous Katz's Delicatessen.

If  you want something different then Ellen's Stardust Diner (Times Square) is renowned for their singing waitstaff!

Have you any suggestions that I can add to this list and try the next time I go?  😊
